About This Sheet
This 3mm clear acrylic perspex sheet is one of the most versatile thicknesses for home and commercial use. It offers a significant step up in rigidity over 2mm while remaining easy to cut and work with. It transmits up to 92% of visible light and will not yellow over its lifetime. Where we supply PLEXIGLAS® branded sheet, it carries a 30-year no-yellowing guarantee, backed by NATURALLY UV-STABLE technology built into the full depth of the material.
Typical Applications at 3mm
Secondary glazing: 3mm acrylic perspex sheet is an excellent choice for DIY secondary glazing systems. It reduces heat loss and condensation without the weight or fragility of glass. When used with our magnetic tape secondary glazing kit, 3mm is recommended for pane areas up to 1.5 sq metres. For larger panes, 4mm is a better choice. Greenhouse glazing: Lightweight, shatter-resistant, and highly light-transmitting, 3mm acrylic is a practical glass replacement for greenhouse panes. Unlike glass, it will not shatter if impacted.
