This is the most effective solar control option in our standard multiwall range — the practical solution for sun-exposed structures that would otherwise be unusably hot in summer.
Best Thermal Insulation in Our Range: A U-value of 1.60 W/m²K ensures the same structure that stays cool in summer also retains heat efficiently in winter — far better than 16mm triplewall (2.40 W/m²K) or 10mm twinwall (3.20 W/m²K). The two benefits work together to deliver a genuinely year-round comfortable space.
Wider Rafter Spacing: Maximum rafter spacing of 1250mm gives greater flexibility in frame design and reduces the number of supporting rafters required compared to 16mm (1050mm) or 10mm (700mm) sheets.
Impact Resistance: 200 times stronger than glass and highly resistant to hailstones, wind-blown debris and accidental impact. Performance is maintained across a broad temperature range of -40°C to +100°C.
UV Protection: Co-extruded UV protective layer on the outer surface blocks over 98% of harmful UV radiation, preventing yellowing and loss of strength over time. Sheets must always be installed with the UV-protected side facing outward.
Lightweight: At approximately 3.4 kg/m², 25mm bronze 7X wall is far lighter than glass, keeping structural load and on-site handling manageable despite the extra wall layers.
Installation Note: When fitting 25mm 7X wall polycarbonate on a roof, maximum rafter spacing must not exceed 1250mm. Always install with the UV-protected side facing outward and ribs running vertically or up-slope. Seal the top edge with solid aluminium tape and use a vented U-profile at the bottom edge to allow condensation to drain.
