Capex 40/60 Glazing Bars are concealed-fixing aluminium glazing bars for roof pitches of 5° and above, used wherever multiwall polycarbonate or solid polycarbonate roof sheets meet along a rafter. A snap-fit cap hides the fixing screws and clamps down over an integrated rafter gasket, giving a clean, weatherproof finish along every rafter line.

Available in White or Brown, in 40mm or 60mm widths and a full range of lengths, supplied complete with fixing screws and rafter gasket.

Concealed-fixing aluminium glazing bar • 40mm or 60mm widths • White or Brown • suits roof pitches of 5°+ • supplied with fixing screws and rafter gasket

The Capex 40/60 Glazing Bar is fitted along the timber rafter wherever two multiwall polycarbonate roofing sheets, or solid flat polycarbonate sheets, meet on a roof of 5° pitch or greater. It is designed for roofs such as lean-to canopies, conservatories, pergola roofs, and walkways, anywhere sheets need to be joined and sealed along a common rafter line.

How It Works

The bar is a two-part aluminium system. The base section is screwed down through its centre into the timber rafter, with the sheets sitting either side on the integrated rafter gasket, which forms the weatherproof seal against the sheet surface. The cap then snaps firmly over the base, fully concealing the fixing screws underneath. The result is a neat, low-profile finish with no visible fixings and a sealed, weathertight joint that can withstand exposure to wind and rain.

Every Capex bar arrives pre-drilled and ready to fit, complete with fixing screws and a rafter gasket — there's nothing extra to source before installation.

Planning Your Roof Layout

Your glazing bar layout will follow the rafter spacing for the sheet thickness you're installing — as a guide, 10mm multiwall sheets are typically run at up to 700mm rafter centres, 16mm at up to 1050mm, and 25mm at up to 1250mm. Our sales team can confirm the right spacing and bar specification for your project. For a full walkthrough of fitting sheets between glazing bars, see our guide to installing multiwall polycarbonate.
